Drain Surveys & Soakways

Drain Surveys

Problems with underground drains can cause severe damage to nearby structures. Leaking water can wash away the “fines” in the soil, causing the soil to become loose. This can be a major cause of subsidence in properties.

Observational surveys can be carried out to examine the internal condition of the drains and locate specific defects that can then be repaired. We can also trace the positions of drains using a “SOND” device. This information can then be passed on to Contractors, Water Companies and other Clients to provide them with accurate information, both for their records and for future planning of work.

Once the surveys are done, we issue detailed reports complete with CCTV observations, video recordings and where necessary we can provide recommendations for repairs.

Soakaways

Testing at the location of proposed soakaways are carried out to provide infiltration rates for soakaway design. The test is carried out to British standard BS:5930.
