Structural Surveys
Visual structural surveys of houses have formed a large part of Shire’s background, working with a number of Local Authorities and Housing Associations.
Shire have completed a wide range of structural inspections. These range from individual properties where defects are highlighted by pre-purchase surveyors to conditional surveys of full housing estates. The structures inspected include traditional housing, non-traditional housing, multi-storey structures, churches and castles. We work closely with other professionals including Conservation Architects, English Heritage, Stone Masons and Timber repair specialists.
These visual surveys have been carried out to single housing estates containing up to 1000 properties, multiple estates of between 200 – 300 properties or groups of tower blocks.
The visual inspections have formed part of the government-backed “Decent Homes” program or due to identified generic design defects.
Where required our Surveyors can work with our Construction Teams to provide a combined Survey and Repair Service.
We can conduct geotechnical investigations to determine existing ground conditions, detailed surveys of existing structures for demolition or rebuild (including extensions), condition surveys or general structural advice as needed.
Our team are trained and qualified to attend any site and we work closely with other professionals including Conservation Architects, English Heritage, Stone Masons and Timber repair specialists.
