Jacking (Conservatory)

This conservatory was suffering from subsidence related to poor foundation design. The shallow slab foundation sat on poorly consolidated ground. Shire Piles were installed around the outer perimeter of the structure. Jacking heads were then placed on top of the pile, with the toe of the jacking head placed under the concrete slab. The jacks are lifted, whilst levels are monitored using laser levels.

The structure was lifted as much 45mm in some areas. On completion of the lift, the jacks are removed, and the top soil reinstated.
The whole project was completed at a fraction of the cost of a demolition and rebuild project.
